  1. Like all the tracks here, the sound clearly channels the past, but only to buff it with a current sheen.

Deja-Vu is at its best when it sounds like a victory lap, not a labored attempt to keep up.

One wonders what could have happened if Moroder explored a little more, rather than playing it safe.

That contemporary approach to Déjà Vu’s sound keeps the album from being as fun as it should be.

Several of the album's tracks might not hold up if not for Moroder's brilliant production work tying it all together.

"Deja Vu" is exactlyPleasant freshness survived to the 2000's/2010's musical revolution, but still tuned on what is the modern electropop. "Deja Vu" is exactly what makes you dance, both whether you are young or elderly. The inevitable collaboration with pop artists of high level makes it even more captivating.
Some elements, such as the guitar-loop or the bubbling basses might therefore become slightly pushy with their spread well disguised in all the album, which was still a bit monochrome in some points. Luckily, only-instrumental tracks help to avoid this problem. They are intelligently put at the beginning (4 U With Love), in the middle (74 Is The New 24) and at the end (La Disco). On the other hand, when you are 74 and you're working and producing for Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Dev and Charli XCX you can definitely call your life complete.
