Sep 20, 2021From Dreams to Dust packs all the wit, creativity, and emotionally compelling depth that you'd expect from a band leading the country/Americana charge - until now, we just didn't know that band was The Felice Brothers.
-
Sep 17, 2021These songs are full of a wobbly confidence that puts a tight focus on the personal and political, lashing out at a world of waste and injustice ("To-Do List," "Money Talks") while Felice wavers between a playful appreciation of his own eccentricity ("Jazz on the Autobahn") and a less charitable observer who has something timely and eloquent to say. The band's ragged but right grooves are in especially good shape this time out.
-
Sep 16, 2021The Felice Brothers take great chances with performances like these, but make them sound wholly natural based on unerring instincts they’ve honed over the years.
-
MojoSep 15, 2021Throughout, the Brothers' riotous dustbowl carnival sounds and Ian's pointed deadpan make for a consistently entertaining cocktail. [Oct 2021, p.92]
-
UncutSep 15, 2021It also might be the best album this consistently weird and interesting bunch have made. [Oct 2021, p.27]
-
Sep 15, 2021This album demands the full attention of the listener, an old-school concept; those that put the most into it will get the most out of it. Dig in. It’s worth the effort.
-
Classic Rock MagazineSep 15, 2021It's a slow-burn of an album, sounding more layered with each listen, the strain of a pedal steel woven into the fabric of the songs. [Oct 2021, p.79]
