Niall Horan is an underrated musician. This album is so perfect, the lyrics and the different songs that are there.. it tells a story, its a whole album. I feel bad that the release date was the same as the pandemic because it deserved so much more. Niall is an amazing songwriter and singer, hoping to hear more from him soon

Horan has escalated my expectations with this album. Saddening that I found it so late. He's definitely outperformed his first solo album in every sense- lyrically, vocally, the creativity. Not only this but he's also outperformed his ex-bandmates (the other two that are still relevant).

This album is a stepback from his debut. Sounds like an average One Direction album, maybe it's because he worked with his One Direction collaborator. It seems like he desperately wanted to make hits but failed. He should stick to acoustic folk-pop songs.

This album is really my favorite of Niall Horan, there are people who will say that it is basic and boring, but it is not about listening and coming to the conclusion that the album is boring, the songs have to be enjoyed and their lyrics analyzed. depth. Songs like "Arms of a Stranger", "Still" and "New Angel" are perfect and elevate the quality of the album.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Heartbreak weather is an excellent album. It creates an entire context and atmosphere of what a heartbreak looks/feels like. The name of the album already introduces that idea. Heartbreak weather symbolizes the mix of emotions involved and Niall, through the album, approaches the subject from many different perspectives. Tracks like new angel and arms of a stranger talk about the getting over phase while tracks like black and white and nice to meet ya show the excitement and even a little inocence from when you are on a good place in yout relationship. Those changes of point of view make the album fun and dynamic. In terms of lyrics the album is also amazing, as we can see, for example, in dear patience, where Niall personificates a feeling and has a conversation with it in an extraordinary well written song. Basically, Niall is a storyteller and he does it very well: with a clear concept, he is really able to emerse the listeners into the situations he talks about and that´s what makes the album so involving. My only reservation is about the linearity of the story, wich I think could have been better done. Despite the concept is very clear, the sense of time, cause and consequence can be a little lost, wich could easily be fixed just by changing the order of some songs like no judgement, that would make more sense in the beginning of the album than in the end since the start with black and white (the song heartbreak weather is more like a presentation of the concept) expresses the joy while the relationship is good and the end with still symbolizes the melancoly of admitng that getting over is hard. Summarizing, heartbreak weather is an outstanding involving album and Niall is definitely in a better place as a solo artist than he has ever been. Hope to hear more from him soon and excited about what is coming next. Expand

Ex-One Direction members continue putting out new music to feed their beloved fans. While some have released mostly chaotic albums, some have sound their sound and signature in this five years since the band's hiatus announcement. This is not Horan's case.
"Flicker", his debut album, as every other debut, gives you the right to make a very simple record with a little background band and a small production since the budget the label destins for you is very little. However, if you have been a One Direction member, this is not the case. With a big budget that could be destined to work with amazing producers, photographers and composers, Horan released in 2017 the flattest record you can imagine but was forgivable since being a solo artist was something new for him. Nevertheless, any artist's second studio album is the one that will define the rest of your career. Thus, I do not expect anything gorgeous in Niall Horan's career in a near future. You can not make the same mistake twice. "Heartbreak Weather" is focused once again in a love story and how this evolves into a breakup, using the most basic and common theme for an album once again. I don't know about you but I sometimes get too tired of this. Even though the lyrics are basic and its sound is very flat but correct, its production is amazing. Horan's voice sounds very clear and transparent and matches very well to the music. In concrete, the album begins very nicely and happens very quickly but, as you reach the seventh track, you get a bit if not very tired of this. When you reach that point it feels like you are listening to an endless 25-minute long song that doesn't add anything special to the album; it just makes it more boring if possible.
In conclusion, "Heartbreak Weather" is a nicely produced second studio album that may define Niall Horan as this man that is not able to let the acoustic guitar get away from his hands as well as a poor man that is too afraid to make something new and fresh because he has no capacity to do so, transforming his persona into a decaffeinated European version of Shawn Mendes.

I think this is a solid pop album. It may not take many risks, but it's so easily enjoyable and catchy. One negative thing I would say is that there isn't much variety in the songs. They all sound pretty similar and there aren't really any standouts for me. But overall, it's a good album.

There’s a sense that some tracks are only a “na na na” bridge or a Liam Payne falsetto away from being potential 1D bangers, but that isn’t to suggest anything’s missing here: Horan owns the vocals and pushes himself into some new expressive territory. With Heartbreak Weather Niall Horan has shown incredible growth from his debut album Flicker. On this record he clearly had more confidence to experiment with different sounds, but he also stayed true to who he is as an artist. As the title describes, it gives you all the feelings that come with falling in love and then getting your heart broken. Niall once again showed that being the black sheep in a boyband won't matter in the end, it's musical talent that gets you further and will keep him in the industry for the long run! I suggest everyone to go have a listen, especially now that we're all quarantined and looking for something to do!! Expand

Definite Recommend! This is the best album ever released by Niall Horan, songs are catchy compared to the last one. Niall's emotions and feelings are trully visible and expressed through the lyrics and you can tell how tough he put his effort to write and produce these songs so perfectly.

Heartbreak Weather lacks originality and substance. It is like a One D album only worse, because it is missing the better voices. Did he try to appeal to fans of the former band in attempts to score a hit? The over-production or auto tune is obvious. Listen to this album in order instead of on shuffle. Best songs were Black and White, Bend The Rules and Still. Loved every song!

this album is the best. the different sounds and letters that compose it are wonderful. Niall's evolution since 1D is noticeable. I can't wait to see it live.

A One Direction reject album AT BEST! lazy, chart-chasing, conservative music.

HBW é bom demais e merece tudo!

Nice but can be better, like the sound can be more variant. It’s not a bad pop rock album!

I like it very much. Niall has grown most from his one direction days. I feel like he didn't get much of chance in one direction

Great beats and great lyrics, it starts off with my favorite song of the album with Heartbreak Weather’s title track and it is one of my favorite songs that has started off an album in quite awhile. It then continues onto more songs about relationships, which would be my only criticism of the album. Relationships are great to sing about but I would like to see some more variety of topics of songs but that would be the one complaint. He paces his songs well and knows where to put his strong songs to keep his album flowing. Great second effort for Niall and continues to show he’s the most talented musically of his 1D counter parts. Expand

After all the sentimental rigamarole, it’s tough to come away from Heartbreak Weather feeling any closer to Horan. He spends too much of the record bouncing between sounds and songwriting concepts to feel distinct.

There are hints of experimentation, such as Nice to Meet Ya’s swaggering hybrid of Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian, but it’s the excellent title track’s flirtation with glossy, synth-tinged MOR that suggests where Horan might be headed next. Proof that it’s often the quiet ones you need to keep an eye on.
