This is an album for anyone born and raised with the inherently youthful and yearning spirit of rock ringing in their bones.

I Sell the Circus, in other words, can’t quite shake some of Pollard’s tendencies to keep us guessing, tendencies often employed to the detriment of consistency. Ricked Wicky, though, never goes full oddball.

There’s an unmistakable feeling of sameness that runs through I Sell the Circus, which isn’t to say that it sounds tired--anything but.

Its echoes of '60 Brit Invasion rock, arch lyrics and prime Pollard song-title jibber will sound more familiar. [Feb 2015, p.96]

I Sell the Circus is the debut album from Ricked Wicky, the latest in a long line of projects from Pollard, which finds him in a straightforward rockin' mood while also indulging his fondness for classic hard rock and progressive influences.

I Sell the Circus is an uneven collection from an artist clearly torn between the future and his past.
