Their approach is no longer as unique as it once was, but unlike many reunion albums, this one stands up fine next to their seminal work.

Throughout the album there’s no doubt that this is a band that knows what it’s doing, whether fiddling about with feedback and distant-thunder drumbeats, or taking the rock blueprint and rearranging it as the group pleases.

The jettisoning of shoegaze trickery takes place within a comeback that, even if very welcome, isn’t entirely spectacular.

It's a sound they now seem utterly at ease with, and the album is all the better for its confident, super-relaxed approach. [Apr 2015, p.111]

They're back as if they never left, with one of the great albums of 2015. Not a single flaw, and a bunch of peaks that reach their highest. "Autodidact", "Last Rites", "For a Day Like Tomorrow", the sublime and subtle harmonies of "English Subtitles", the power of "Deep Wound", sophistication of "Lone Star"... Everything makes you want to listen back to their previous albums and mix them with this one. Swervedriver's music doesn't age. One of the greatest guitar band of all times, now and forever.
