Contains a pleasant variety of genres with multiple guest features that all add to the texture and flow of the tracks. It’s clear to see that RM really loves music and is thoughtful and exacting with his art. I gave it a few months before reviewing since I wanted to see if I was just caught up in the momentA beautiful album that takes the listener on a journey through RM’s musical genius.     A coming of age musical adventure. This album is the perfect harmonious treasure box. Jazz, R&B, City Pop: You have it all. Even though the album can not be categorized into ONE musical genre, the seamless transitions from one song to the next demonstrates RM's prolific songwriting and producing abilities.

    Indigo is an absolute masterpiece from start to finish. Every single featured artist brings a completely different flavour to the last.

    The lyrics are so very deep and touch on hard real emotions that connect with the listener. RM is a lyrical genius and I highly recommend this album.

    I’ve lived with Indigo for nearly five months and I’m now convinced I will never never never grow tired of it! I still change my favorite song every few days and am completely in love with all 10. I’ve taught literature for more than a decade and believe the lyrics are pure poetry. As Emily Dickinson said, “If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that isI’ve lived with Indigo for nearly five months and I’m now convinced I will never never never grow tired of it! I still change my favorite song every few days and am completely in love with all 10. I’ve taught literature for more than a decade and believe the lyrics are pure poetry. As Emily Dickinson said, “If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.” This is how I felt upon listening to RM’s Indigo the first time. Then I printed out the lyrics and translations and put them in a binder so I can scribble notes in the margins. As with all my favorite writers, the meaning changes with the seasons and with life. There are layers. I’ve cried to songs like No. 2 & Wildflower and belted out Lonely with my friend who lost her husband last year. It’s an incredibly hopeful album even as Namjoon never shies away from raw honesty as he looks at the pain he has experienced in his life. How can an album composed of 10 distinct genres be so cohesive?! Each song is so unique and perfect. The reason Indigo never gets old is that it’s sonically interesting. Nothing cliché is in this album; it’s full of surprises and ear worms. Indigo is best listened to volume up as high as possible as you speed down the interstate for hours. It’s a JOURNEY. It’s also your best friend when you have to do those mindless household chores. It makes you more creative when you cook a dinner from scratch with a good glass of red wine in hand. I’ve begun to divide my life into Indigo units of time. I walk 2 Indigos nearly every day— that is, I walk 32 minutes one way then turn around and walk 32 minutes back home. Instead of 10-15 minute sets of exercise or hooping I do a Change Pt.2 +Wildflower + No.2 or any combination of the songs. It is truly the soundtrack to my life and one of only a handful of albums that I feel this way about. (Tea for the Tillerman, Nick of Time, Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme, Doo Wops & Hooligans, Songs in the Key of Life, Parachutes, & Eva Cassidy’s Songbird) Indigo will outlast them all for me. Finally, I want Kim Namjoon to know that, yes, I listen to Indigo when I drive, drink my coffee & take a walk. I listen to it when I take a shower, work on my computer, and when I sit in the sun reading a book. I do dance to it. And I have listened to it when flowers bloom or fall. Somehow I hope that I can send a message through the universe to poet & musician RM how very thankful I am for this gift of words and music.… Expand

    One the best albums of 2022 for me and I just keep going back to these songs! Every song has its own unique sound & charm and every collaborator alongside RM fits perfectly. The flow from beginning to the end is amazing too. Just a very relatable, enjoyable & emotion-filled album to suit my everyday moods.

Unlike the lyrics from his first mixtape 'RM' which is filled with teenage-to-young adult rage and 'mono' which shows the melancholic side of his mid-twenties, Indigo feels rather lighter yet still holds the same depth and substance—if not more—compared to his previous albums. This shows how current Kim Namjoon has clearer vision about life thus he is more relaxed and in control of his individuality.
    Kim Namjoon certainly always had a clear vision and planned every single detail about his works, not every musician can do that even the experienced ones.     All the music here is too good. Of course there are people with different tastes, but most of them think that this is art. I think so too. A mix of everything with a good flavor, Indigo is one of the best albums of 2022 Thank you RM.

Indigo is an amazing album, Namjoon did an incredible job creating incredible lyrics, reflecting on 4 years of hard work explaining how a rising star keeps his feet on the ground so as not to get lost in the wacky world of fame, while immersing the listener in warm rhythms and very rhythmic that are pleasant to the ear. It is an easy album to digest and with which daily life activities that seem simple can create great moments. I personally recommend listening to Yun while you are in a museum, Hectic when you are driving, etc.… Expand

    Tenía grandes expectativas con este álbum y debo decir que no decepciono para nada. Todas las canciones pueden parecer diferentes entre si, pero tienen una correlación increíble, sobre todo cuando lees las letras. Que habilidad tan increíble tiene este señor para escribir. Mis respetos. Me gusta que la música que oigo me haga sentir, y sin duda Indigo lo hizo.

    Aun no puedo creer lo maravilloso que es este album. RM puso todas sus emociones que vivió durante sus 20s y creó semejante obra de arte. Cada canción está tan bien detallada con lo que refleja el artista y lo que nos quiso presentar junto a las voces que se unieron a el. No tiene comparación. Yo aún no me decido cual canción es mi favorita porque las amo todas.

But honestly the best part i the lyrics. Gotta face it - the man’s a poet. What a gem this album. I really really recommend listening to Wild Flower.     Me gusto mucho las canciones. Siento que es algo distinto de lo que ha lanzado anteriormente con rapmonster y mono. Los otros artistas con quien colaboró tienen voces hermosas e increibles. Escuchar lo bien que se escuchan y como se acoplan es maravilloso. Podria decir que mi favorita es Closer. La escucho mucho a menudo.

    Incredible album, it takes you on a journey through the highs and lows of Namjoon's 20s. It's soothing, thought provoking and moving. Along with the outstanding production, it is pure artistry at it's finest.

    There is    Incredible album, it takes you on a journey through the highs and lows of Namjoon's 20s. It's soothing, thought provoking and moving. Along with the outstanding production, it is pure artistry at it's finest.

    This album is a beautiful story from start to finish. RM takes you on a journey through his 20s, and each song reflects a new piece of himself. My favourite track is All Day, which he performs with Tablo from Epik High, one of his heroes. The title track Wildflower is heart-wrenching and empowering at the same time. I highly recommend this album.

Throughout the ups and downs of the album there are several genre explored and features by great supporting artists like Anderson .Paak, Tablo, YouJeen (from Cherry Filter) and others that otherwise would seem strange to be all in one album but given that this is RM and he's a creative genius , it all fits incredibly well. From neo-soul and folk to city pop, the album takes you on ride through his struggles and how he deals with them successfully one day at a time one emotion at a time. No matter your age it is relatable though it is about him moving through his 20's into his 30's. He closes out the album with a song where he collaborates with Park Ji-Yoon and reminds us not to dwell on the past, no looking back. I strongly recommend getting translations of the lyrics to fully grasp how amazing and unique this album is. Choosing one song to listen to half way won't even begin to give you the gist of this masterpiece.… Expand

    Truly a piece of art! Since it’s release I’ve been listening everyday to this album, I can relate to the most of the lyrics of the album which really comforts me and makes me feel truly emotional, something that lately has been really hard for me. I more than happy that through BTS I could meet RM, his music truly saves my soul during this hard times :) (lonely hits too close to home hshs)

    Namjoon is a genius artist, and his album Indigo is pure art. Please listen to it from Track 1 so that you’ll enjoy the flow & feels of the whole album. Personally, I like the last song the most. It’s called No.2. ☺️

    I’ll carry this album with me for the rest of my life. I’m in my early 20s and have been overwhelmed with emotions about it for quite some time. This album settles a lot of it for me - especially the final track “No.2.” There was no better way to end the album which tells me something I already knew.     I know that RM is genius but this album truly makes me wow. I can see myself in each of the songs, my daily life. All songs could be listened to anywhere, anytime. They bring the social vibe and boldness of Namjoon.
