    This album showed how great j-hope is! The order of the songs are well thought of. The lyrics are very relevant. My faves are Equal Sign, Future and Pandora's box. Two thumbs up for j-hope! Can't wait for the world tour with these songs...

    Surprisingly a different type of album. Love the message and fusion blend of hip hop and popular music. Intro gives a good insight of the beginning of j-hope. The outcome is a masterpiece album.

    This is the album that J-hope decided to show various sides of himself. It's very different and a good different for me. It's hard with rock elements, dark showing off a different personality other than the bright sunshine we're used to. He talks about his hard work, critics and people who have doubted him, I recommend giving it a listen.

    Who would've thought that songs with so much angst like MORE & ARSON would come from the well-known sunshiny BTS member, j-hope?!?

    It really is a "Pandora's box" that once you listen to the first track, you can't & wouldn't stop listening 'til the end (chronologically) — as it paints an emotionally-driven rollercoaster that will peak your curiosity.

    Is this j-hope's (or should we say Jay's) rebellion against being always boxed into the cookie-cutter notion of what a typical K-Pop idol is?

    Or is this a personal catharsis that he was brave enough to share, despite it being extremely darker than the music we typically get from him?

    You'd be the judge. But just a friendly reminder...

He put it to the next level. He talks not just himself but also the world how it affects him and his belief in STOP and Equal Sign. Not to mention the vocals on Equal Sign that caught off guard. I never heard him sing like that. He keeps surprising me in a great way. What If talks about questioning himself if he have not all these things, will he be still this kind of person. It's a good song that follows Music Box: Reflection. Then goes to find his safe zone, as an Idol and artist for 13 years, he knows how this industry works, being in the spotlight for long time can be tiring and he needs to find that spot where he feels safe and true to himself. There are times that being an artist can be exhausting and tiresome but he is still hopeful and he discussed it with Future. Sometimes you just have to go with flow and don't fight the current. You have to choose your battles wisely. Ending it with Arson with such a masterpiece, he display his great rapping skills.     As a still pretty fresh fan, Jack in the Box was my introduction to Korean music and BTS. And wow was it an opener for me! It flows beautifully from start to finish and delivers some important messages throughout its entirety. My only wish is that it would be a little longer, but I’m sure it’s not the last time we hear something this good from J-hope.

I won't even consider myself the biggest hip hop fan, but Jhope and his members really do show us how great the genre is and how much they appreciate its roots. J-hope's voice is so unique and intricate, especially in Jack in the Box, I felt he truly used it as an instrument full of manyyy different sounds, textures, and promises, but I'd like to really applaud the emotion in his voice & ways of using it, at no point at all does it feel "forced", awkward or unnatural.

    The lyrics felt very sincere, and actually pretty deep, I could relate to them a lot, not always because they reflect my own experiences but mostly because they feel very sincere. To me it felt like J-Hope as a person & an artist truly wants to engage with the world, not just live in it, but understand it deeply, and that's something I totally understand and found beautiful to write about in such a personal release. It's amazing to see lyrics that aren't just generic, both in their themes and actual phrasing, words, and metaphors, he knows how to bring creativity to his service ! Overall this is a no-skip album, and each song will be your favorite at some point or another I believe. The one I keep digging into relentlessly is MORE, but thats because I realllyyy love those guitars and the chorus and drums are just too delicious to not want to bop your head and shout

    Anyways ! I really recommend Jack In The Box to people who love music, especially if you're a punkhead, I think you'll find a lot of personnality, energy & heart poured into it, and also it really makes you wanna get out of your chair/head and just go to a concert & rock out, as a whole !    … Expand

    I love this album, after his mixtape Hope World I was waiting excited for his next project and he did not disappoint. I love the 90s references, it feels so genuine how he showed his love and respect for the music he grew up dancing and listening to. My favorites tracks are What If, Equal Sign, Future and Pandora´s box.

    Amazing album, it really showed what j-hope can do as a soloist. He really did something different and took risks with his debut album. Sonically, it's well produced and brings back the old hip-hop. The samples are legendary and we can see j-hope's current emotions through his awesome lyrics.

    Mükemmel bir şaheser hiç şüphesiz, ilk başta inanamamıştım çünkü j-hope'un hope world albümü gibi bir albüm bekliyordum. Ama tüm beklentilerimi harika şekilde karşıladı.

    Jack in the box es un increible album. Cada canción es tan especial. Y es aun mas espcial cuando se presento en lollapalooza. Arson es mi cancion favorita. Este album esta lleno de él de sus pensamientos, pensar en la liberacion y plasmar sus emociones en cada cancion. Lo recomiendo muchísimo.

    Jhope is a wonderful artist. He brought back old school beats with lyrics as his personal struggles, stories and views. His vision is commendable. JITB is a one of a kind album with 0 skips.

    Muy buen álbum, valoro muchísimo que no se dejó llevar por el gusto popular y genérico (que me aburre). Ojalá siga haciendo lo que siente y no lo que pide el mercado... Sino va a ser uno más del montón, y el no es de esos, merece destacarse.

    There’s an excellent three track run from “What if…,” an energetic song that samples Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s “Shimmy Shimmy Ya,” into mid-tempo standout “Safety Zone” before a touch of Hope World familiarity returns in the optimistic “Future.”
