[Tony] Allen’s drumming propels five of the album’s nine tracks, spattering syncopated accents, quick little snare-drum rolls and hissing cymbals all around the central beat — and constantly striking sparks. ... Coldcut’s presence is ubiquitous; it was the duo that put all the scattered pieces of Keleketla! together. But the thoroughly hybridized music makes clear that in Africa, Coldcut was ready to listen above all.
Keleketla! is a powerful combination of activism and musical exploration, bonding the sounds of several locations and eras in order to express messages of joy, optimism, and revolution.
Here, the component parts of hip-hop, jazz, dub and protest music are pieced together, like the many languages of a diasporic conversation. If the call is for music, Keleketla!’s mutlilingual, effusive response is one worth hearing.
In short, it’s an album that demonstrates the continuing merit of musical collaboration while also offering a hopeful counterpoint to a world all too often consumed by negativity and strife.

[which means "response" in Sepedi]. Very interesting to feel the energy with different rhythms; there is afrobeat, garage and nu jazz around the trip. And the end is just... WOW. Yes, that's the word [and in capital]: WOW.

This is simply an incredible spiritual journey with such a big and really important cultural weight that will give consolation, happiness, and energy to international hearts. This Jazz is directed by Coldcut and conformed by a gigantic group of very relevant people for the eternal legacy of music. With lyrics about love, the soul, the family, and union, here from México, Keleketla! makes me feel part of the world. The production is magnificent, with an instrumental orchestra well organized and a glimpse of digital influences, this ambient goes up and down between dances and sighs. A wonder that the space in Instagram won't let me describe completely and, if I could, words would be short compared to the full experience. Please listen to this album.…Expand
