Pressed together, it becomes apparent how pleasurably the band’s entire discography has crystallized. Capturing the quicksilver violence of youth may be beyond us now, as it is for Wild Beasts, but we still make time to celebrate the night’s dark chemistry.

Last Night makes for a perfect farewell, with tracks from across the band's career. [Apr 2018, p.116]

The Cumbrian art-rockers go out on this crisp, thoroughly engaging high: a live in the studio, Boy King-heavy stroll through some of their big-hitters recorded at RAK in London over two days last summer. [Mar 2018, p.96]

Not since The Smiths or Pulp had an indie band so keenly evoked and vivisected the spectacle of lubricious, learned masculinity at large. On this final hurrah, they sound like the last of a dying breed.

While the record is a little "newer albums heavy"--a medley version of "The Devil's Crayon" is the only appearance of their still brilliant debut--this collection still manages to showcase a healthy amount of each of the rest of the band's impressive back-catalogue.

Last Night... is an album that you can look to as a fitting memoriam of what made Wild Beasts truly great: fearlessness to be who they are, and do it all on their own terms. Even their retirement.

More engaging and more thoughtful than a standard best-of, Last Night All My Dreams Came True is a rousing goodbye from one of the most acclaimed bands of their generation.

It pulls off the neat trick of wrapping up their legacy while also adding something new to it.

While it might not be a satisfying goodbye, Last Night All My Dreams Came True is--like all of Wild Beasts’ albums--an artfully rendered snapshot of a band always in motion.

Ótimo! Uma passagem por quase todas as fases da banda de forma maestral e bem executada. Wild Beasts é excelente seja ao vivo ou em estúdio.

Neither a live album nor a greatest hits album in a true sense yet both simultaneously for Wild Beasts. I have to say I could never countNeither a live album nor a greatest hits album in a true sense yet both simultaneously for Wild Beasts. I have to say I could never count myself as a big fan of the band. They once played a gig in my hometown and I didn't bother going despite being familiar with their "Smother" album. This is something I now regret having listened to "Last Night All My Dreams Came Through". This is a band with seriously interesting songs playing them in an incredibly comfortable environment which leads to a confident, slick yet organic feel. Guitars, synths, vocals and rhythm section are all doing something you don't hear every day. I'm not sure this album will push me to check out their back catalog extensively but I do really like it and gladly shelled out cash for it. Full Review »
