Though not quite closure, ‘Lost Wisdom Pt. 2’ is the sound of Mount Eerie reaching clarity.

It’s a hard place to go with him; confrontationally stark, it may be the rare album that works better on paper.

Even with 'Mount Eerie' and his intentionally wack lyrics, 'Lost Wisdom, Pt. 2' is lost... not in an artistic way but a confusing one. Many of the songs instrumentals are ambient and great for listening to in the background but Mr. Eerie likes to take over their beauty with absurdity that ultimately clashes and ruins what was originally captivating about them. 'Belief', the intro, is pretty good. However, it would of been better if it ended around the 4 or 5 minute mark. 'Love Without Possession' and 'Belief Pt. 2' are a breath of fresh air on this album. 'Eerie' and 'Doiron' flow in between each others vocals and allow time for the instrumentals to evolve through the entirety of their respective tracks. I would be glad if these two artists paired up again if they were able to pull of this same talent on another album. However, the amount of misses on this album make this thing feel like a flop. 'Real Lost Wisdom' is by far the worst track. Its not exactly terrible, its just not good. it's boring and could of easily been cut from the track list. The only problem is; if these types of 'boring' tracks were cut from the album, it would barely makeup a track list for an EP. This project has some ambition in it but further into its tracks, its hard to figure out if their lyrics are meaningful or created off the top of their heads. Full Review »
