He’s legitimizing his side project. Puscifer’s 2011 album, Conditions of My Parole, moved away from the novelty of V is For Vagina, and Money Shot furthers that progression into more mature territories.

Forever may be too long to wait for Keenan's other work, but it would be wrong to say Money Shot is any less rewarding.

Obviously, we'd much prefer to have a new Tool album, but in the interim, Money Shot won't leave you feeling short-changed. [31 Oct 2015, p.54]

It has moments of genius (‘Grand Canyon’, ‘The Remedy’) as well as questionable missteps (‘Simultaneous’).

It's incredible that people who may do this for a living or blogging still feel the need to compare everything Maynard does to Tool; this is a separate project of ONE member of Tool and it should stop being brought up. This album for me was quite a grower in my opinion. Conditions of my Parole seemed to be a lot easier to approach and get into immediately while Money Shot took a few listens and seeing it live to fully appreciate. The vocal and instrumental phrasing is very unique and at times very progressive without being too chaotic. I rate this album at a 9 because of how emotional this release was, it seems to have many moods to it forming an altogether complex and deep album. Not to mention the talent of everyone involved, I am loving where this band is going. Full Review »

Corina sounds better than ever. and the haunting atmosphere of some tracks (smoke and mirrors, life of brain) and the deeply introspective tracks (The remedy, the arsonist) make this album a must listen Full Review »

Money Shots brings Puscifer one step further from the excellent Conditions of my Parole, building on previous ideas and adding cohesion. From opening to closure (the final song Autumn being definitely a highlight) Money Shot has a magnificent sense of flow and and feels circular. Bravo, Puscifer, you've released something that resonates as a whole and that will bring me back in 2015 every time I will listen to Money Shot in the years to come.
