It's got relapse vibes and amazing features. Royce, black thought, q tip, juice, skylar and ortiz deliver, as usual. Ed sheeran's vocals are on point in Those Kinda Nights and the songs a banger. My favourite track is Unaccomodating ft. Young M.A., young's flow was amazing and em's verse gave me nostalgia (heavy relapse vibes).

Em’s best album since Recovery. I did not like Revival at all. Kamikaze came back and was a good offering, but not his best. But this album reminds me a lot of the old Eminem. I can’t tell you how much I love this LP. It’s one of his very best.

It’s a great album with a variety of songs. It’s a return to form for Eminem as a lyricist. This album gave me some vibes of earlier works like The Eminem Show. Great album. Great songs. Don’t take my word for it though. Listen to the album and see what you think.

Marshall sticks to what he’s good at. If you’re a fan of Eminem you’ll love it, if you’re not that familiar with his full length projects this might leave you in the middle of the road. Overall I’m very much impressed that the “old” guy still got it. Expand

Excellent production with a focused and diverse musical themes. It is lyrically lethal with clever wordplay, plenty of entendres, cadences, great metaphors and puns. Eminem shows that even at his age, he is still evolving and improving his craft, which most rappers never get to reach or let alone, maintain longitudinal relevancy in the music industry!

Eminem chose way better beats this time.
As far as lyrics it was a clinic. Lyrical wizardry.
Most of the hooks were dope too.

    Structure: C
    Message: C
    Lyrics: A
    Creativity: B

    Overall Grade: 7 of 10 (6 low ball & 8.5 high ball)

    Biggest Praises:
-Periodically fixed his streak of weak production choice regarding quality beats and choosing ones that synchronize well with his organic sound.
-Has flashes of covering significant introspective hardships and significant problems in society.
-Maintains a consistent balance from start to finish.

    Biggest Criticisms:
-Unnecessary tracks (filler) that don’t contribute much if anything to the overall message and development of the project.
-Forced a slew of literary devices.
-Fairly unrefined delivery in some instances due to a choppy flow.

Key Tracks: Unaccommodating, You Gon’ Learn, and Godzilla.

Final Thoughts: This album exceeds his last couple of efforts by a substantial margin and fix several flaws while the remaining ones aren't nearly as glaring. A great one time listen for casuals who gravitate to the singles and a cult hit for those who have trained their ears for his uncanny and unique sound.

As I Eminem fan since 2000, in my opinion, at least 10 songs are great, but even other 7 are very good. Difference is based on modern, classic hip-hop and Slim Shady sound, so off course that it can't be breathtaking for everybody. For all '00s rap lovers half of songs are insanely good, on the other hand, there is No Regrets which has some modern vibe.

For all '00s rap lovers half of songs are insanely good, on the other hand, there is No Regrets which has some modern vibe.

Preminition (intro), Unaccommodating, Godzilla, Lock It Up, You Gon' Learn and I Will are all that '00s hip-hop head could want. Yah Yah bacivally throwbacks us to '90s. While Stepdad is classic Slim Shady. Not to mention Darkness and Leaving Heaven which are pure art, with Sound of SIlcence vibe and indie rock vibe.

Special mentiong for flow in almost all of songs, absolutely 10/10.

The wiry synths of the haunting Little Engine and You Gon’ Learn’s gripping, chaotic stew of vocal samples and juddering drums are both unequivocally fantastic, while In Too Deep’s monstrous, clattering beat is only spoiled by an awkwardly welded-on pop R&B chorus. Em is back on his "I dont give a **** **** while still having a message in some of his songs. Some of it seems like recycled material, but altogether a well put together album.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In my opinion this album still confirms that Eminem is still one of the Greatest of All Times (GOAT). So much so that we as fans compare him to his own self and his earlier albums. It’s the same reason Lebron James hasn’t received league MVP at least 14 times in a row. When someone is great we as a society get complacent and become used to their greatness. In this album Eminem has tracks for a variety of his fans. If you are into wordplay, lyrics, punchlines, metaphors, and bars you will love this album, he has all of those from beginning to end. His flow is still crisp and he has so many different cadences that he can navigate through the beats with. He can rap Twista fast with precise punctuation. Dr Dre’s print is on a couple beats, but if that’s what you came for you won’t really get those, I mean he does have 20 tracks. His tracks that have features from Skylar and most of Slaughterhouse, and others are good. The Ed Sheeran track is ok, but not my favorite or the one featuring MA. I like MA but next to Em I personally don’t want to hear her on the same track. Oh and about that track, that’s the “controversial” track.... here’s the controversy:

Showed them all the blueprint and formula
But it seems like the more they studied my music, the more they remind me of eyeballs
I'm watching my pupils get cornier (Uh)
But I'm contemplating yelling "Bombs away" on the game
Like I'm outside of an Ariana Grande concert waiting

It was a metaphor, which artist that use words use all the time and far worse one might I add. The whole point was to get his point across. We gonna be mad about that? So comedians can’t tell jokes and music artist have to also not use metaphors that have anything tragic in it. Smh. He has storytelling with bars and it’s a good track too. Overall I enjoy the album. I enjoy lyrics and the fundamentals of hip hop. I can swallow a bottle of alcohol and I'll feel like Godzilla
Better hit the deck like the card dealer
My whole squad's in here, walking around the party
A cross between a zombie apocalypse and big Bobby "The
Brain" Heenan which is probably the
Same reason I wrestle with mania
    Shady's in this **** I'm posse'd up
Consider it to cross me a costly mistake
If they sleepin' on me, the hoes better get insomnia
    ADHD, hydroxycut
    Pass the Courvoisi' (Hey, hey)
In AA with an AK, melee, finna set it like a playdate
Better vacate, retreat like a vacay, mayday
    This beat is cray-cray, Ray J, H-A-H-A-H-A
Laughing all the way to the bank, I spray flings
They cannot tame or placate the ........

Most of the tracks are average, beats are poor and he sounds like he's doing simple talking instead of rapping. Despite that, I really enjoyed "Premonition", "Unaccommodating", "Marsh" and "I Will". Also, the hooks are great.

Beat selection is great, there are a 100 different flows, punchlines galore. Features are amazing too - Black thought, Royce, King Crooked, Joell Ortiz, Anderson Paak and Young MA.

This is an MC at his technical best.

i get that he says controversial things on every album he released, but this time, i think we went too far. manchester attack was a tragedy. 22 died including a young girl age 7. this is so sad and not for entertainment. he did raise 2 million dollars for the victims, but that doesn’t help bringing lives back, and doesn’t mean he could said or mentioned about manchester like this.

This album is one of the worst albums I've heard in awhile, but unlike the mainstream mumble rap that pervades hip hop, this one hurts more when you reminisce on the talent Eminem once had. From awful punch lines nauseatingly bad choruses, and bubblegum pop features, the irony is that fans of Em's recent albums will say "it is better than what's on the radio" ignorant of the fact that Slim Shady has gone the route of hiring Rihanna, Ed Sheeran, Pink, and other pop, radio artists and making singles specifically for this hypocritical purpose. When he tries to be deep and thoughtful, he comes across as someone with a shallow take on social issues, so shallow and unsubstantial, they do not warrant voicing.

He approaches some semblance of self awareness when addressing the negative reviews of his recent albums, but proceeds to remind listeners that he lives in a bubble, for he cannot understand why criticism is directed at him, claiming he should be praised for staying relevant for so long. Well...spoiler Em, it is because your music has painfully regressed in every category, and your relevance seems to be a formulaic approach of dissing old beefs, making a track about what a mistake it was, and then repeating thos process.

The only relevancy he can boast about is managing to secure a new generation of fans, who...in a depressing irony, cannot fathom why older listeners are so critical of Eminem now, for they were not around to witness what made Eminem a legend in hip hop.
It is a somber admittance to loss respect for an artist you once revered. The real slim shady evidently died over a decade ago, and the so called slim shady we see putting out albums now is a hellish, Frankenstein's monster, abomination of a creature.

Eminem has become the Star Wars of rap. There will always be a cult following that will eat up whatever **** is put out, merely because the name Eminem is attached. That tells us what an impact he has had on hiphop. Contrarily, the ones who appreciated the originals though look on with disgust at what their once beloved creation has become. And like Star Wars, we can grimly expect more and more movies (albums) to come out which will only continue to tarnish the legacy of something once so respected and cherished.

He clearly cares about his output, but “Music To Be Murdered By” is, unfortunately, another mixed bag of tricks, propped up by lyrical acrobatics and underwhelming production.

If they look hard enough, any artist could find criticism of their work online. That’s sort of the curse of the Information Age. But not everyone overreacts quite as much as Eminem does. But if his fears grow tiring, his lyrical ability can still give you something to admire, even if the album is somewhat uneven.

It is not, strictly speaking, a good record—Eminem hasn’t made one of those in a decade—but it boasts enough technical command and generates just enough arresting ideas to hold your attention.
