Yelawolf at his best here on this album. Some good tracks are, "Made In The USA", "The Last Song". MUST HAVE album. The Em feature was kind of shady, but the rest of the album made up for it.

This was an amazing debut album for Yelawolf, exceeded my expectations, as it is not just about his crunk dirty south music but he indeed is growing as an artist, too many good tracks on this album! I love it and is definitely MUCH MUCH BETTER THAN ambitions, take care, finally famous etc etc...BEST NEW RAPPER OUT NOW. The best rapper currently in the game point blank! And I know my rap Ive heard lots of the new rap albums and loved them but they dont hold a candle to Radioactive. Its better then Tha carter 4, Take Care, All 6's and 7's, Ambitions, The sideline Story and Finally Famous and those are Veterans of the game and the up and comers! yelawolf is on top now, shady records is taking over. i know that this album is alot different compared to his other stuff, but it truly is a good piece of music. the only thing is that metacritic needs to get all of the reviews updated. there are atleast 12 more reviews that need to be put in the meta calculator. just sayin. holllerattchee

Great album, a satisfying follow up to Trunk Muzik. Every track has Yelawolf's signature style all over it, even the more 'commercial' angled tracks. Good to see that the label was willing to take risks and let him do his thing (eg Gangsta Boo & Eminem featuring together rather than something predictable for Em's contribution). Love the skit leading into Good Girl, an honest disclaimer on Yela's reluctance to include a song for chicks. I actually like the song (I am a chick though!)

The only thing letting the album down is some of the hooks (I don't love the Made in the USA hook for example). Yela should do more of his own hooks, he has the voice for it. Stand out tracks for me: Animal- love the grimy beats, the Diplo/Borgore production is awesome, combined with sick verses and a quality hook; Let's Roll - perfect radio crossover material that's still very Yelawolf; The Last Song- honest, to the point, perfect outro for the album.

The dirty south flavour runs through the whole album, his roots obviously run deep. Alll his verses are right on point, awesome album - cant wait for the next one. But first an Australian tour please!

First heard yellawolf on a mixtape with Rich Boy maybe 2 years ago and he buried the track. Since then, I do not think he has disappointed-which is probably why Shady Records (read: Eminem) picked him up. From 'Bama I like his style (I went to U of A so a bit of prejudice here) and sound. First thing I will say is WOW. Alabama born, white trash rapper Yelawolf took me completely off guard. The best aspect of this album is the originality and flavor that this new rapper brings, His flow is up with the best, and lyrics land him in the acid tongue lounge with rappers such as 50 cent, Eminem and Busta Rhymes. There are several songs where the beats are fantastic but as the rest of the album goes they are pretty average. The one downside to this album is that there are several songs that simply don't sound like something he would make due to the subject matter and also the lack of "emotion" he puts into the songs. Is this album classic? of course not! But there are songs on this album that are classic. "Growin up in the Gutter", "Everything I Love the Most" and "Hard White" its very very good and very very different. If u want to hear something like nothing you have heard before. give this one a listen. Expand

I just seen this guy live he is amazing, Radioactive may not be 100% classic but it is very good. Animal is a song that never gets old. Solid effort, as long as he keeps progressing he will be around for a long time!

Really good album. When I first bought the cd I was excited to listen to it. The album leaked one week early but I refused to listen until the album came out. Turns out it was worth the wait. Eminem is arguably the best rapper out there and the best when it comes to eye for talent. Yelawolf knows how to make hits and this album is proof. Radioactive is a mixed bag that has some outstanding tracks, while others fail from a lack of execution particularly in the production and hook department.

The end result is an album during which the main protagonist seems unaware of what's going on, playing second fiddle to the ruminations of backseat A&Rs and misguided grasps at populism.

It's hard to view Radioactive in any context that doesn't label as it a total artistic failure, to see the totality of Yelawolf's rolling over to commercial demands as anything but truly disheartening.
