There's a less scrappy approach on this album, a glossier production with more realised and experimental offerings. [Jun 2017, p.28]

An album that ultimately sounds curiously disengaged.

This reminds me of a Guided By Voices record (which 90s lo-fi indie rock is a clear influence on Alex here), especially considering the mish mash of songs here, and there are plently of standout singer-songwriter material, and just songs in general, like Proud, Bobby, Witch, Judge, and Powerful Man. However, the major issue with the album is the coherency of the record. Namely, there is none.
