Sincerely Yours, then, remains another sturdy addition to the discography of one of rap's more thrilling creatives.

He proves easy to listen to both as a capable MC with some shining moments.

It attempts to do many of the same things [as Kilt II] sonically but falls short of the mark.

Su might not have the highest aspirations, but minor dreams can still compel a listener; Sincerely Yours just needed to find better modes of expression.

Outside of its strong singles ("Only That Real" and "What You 'Bout"), Sincerely fades into rap's existing trends instead of bucking them.

IAmSu tried to make an excellent debut but it didn't work that well. It really wasn't a bad debut though. I didn't like songs like "Problems" where he tried to be lyrical, it really ruined the vibe of what was supposed to not be a lyrical album. The production on that song, as well as on many others, were plain and boring. The songs that were well-produced featured rappers that were even less lyrical than Su himself (specifically "Only That Real"), so honestly I have mixed feelings about this album. Sage the Gemini made a better HBK debut and I suggest that album over this one. Grade: C+. Highlights: "T.W.D.Y.", "What You 'Bout", "Back on Your Mind". Worst songs: "Ascension", "Hipster Girls" Full Review »
