    Halfway through a song like Blouse (think Our House by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young but resolutely uncatchy) this reviewer begins to yearn for the Clairo that worked with Danny L Harle and Mura Masa, though Sling is an album that at least works on its own terms.

    Im going to be in the minority. I know that and dont get me wrong this has some beautiful production and lyrics but I just didnt connect withIm going to be in the minority. I tried but apart from a few tracks including Blouse which is one of the best songs of the year, Sling is a Bore. I know. I know. and im all for slow burn albums but i just could not connect with it and I have no plans to listen to it again. One listen is good for me. I understand all the love for the album. It has some great production and Im excited to see where Clairo goes from here but overall this is a dissapointment for me. Its not a horrible album but just not one I plan on revisiting. **1/2 out of 5 stars.… Full Review »

    The modern 70’s pop-folk style is a unique style that would be very hard for very mature songwriters to pull off.
