  1. Despite the experiments with the various flavors of hip-hop and glitch techno, Spacesettings is a solid album from some of the more exciting artists in the IDM scene.
  2. With this diverse cast of characters, the web of collaboration and sonic diversity could spin off forever. But under Avanessian's watchful presence, the sonic palette remains in a key that will perpetually draw head-nodders in.
  3. A unique hip-hop/electronica blend, featuring some hypnotic instrumentals and verse from some under-the-radar greats.

Beans and Subtitle are especially fitting on vocals, since both are as loopy as the beats. [Sep 2004, p.115]
  5. As a hip-hop record, Headset's Space Settings fails to hit the mark of its influences, but it is successful in its own right.
  6. There are moments of brilliance, no doubt, scattered handsomely throughout this album, but the overall effect is one of frustration, and not simply the frustration associated with great musicians struggling to come up with interesting ideas, but the frustration we all experience with music as a whole.
  7. Alternative Press

A novel idea that falls flat due to poor execution. [Dec 2004, p.162]
  8. Spacesettings is liquidated, hookless, and entirely flaccid.
