    Sweetener is a mix of the new Ariana Grande. She explored a new interesting sound, her vocals improved as always nobody can deny how great a vocalist she is, Pharell was unnecessary in Sweetener in my opinion but Ariana can save her fourth album with an amazingly pure voice and I am so proud of it." Breathin", "God is a woman" and "No Tears Left To cry" are a good representation of new Ari.

    this album is perfection, i absolutely recommend it. it helped me through the worst period of my life, fr, it is healing. idk why people hate on it.. the productions are perfect, ariana worked really hard to make this album, read all the songs lyrics: they are so private, she putted all of herself in sweetener

    This is her freshest sounding album, it hasn't aged a day sonically speaking. Because of that, I can look past the fact that she literally has a track named after a now-ex of hers, because this album really shines among her discography.

    This album is absolutely a masterpiece and nobody can say otherwise. Every song, every music video, every live performance is perfection. This is a vast improvement from her 2016 Dangerous Woman album, which was the worst album of her career. Ariana Grande cemented herself as the best artist since Mariah Carey with this album, proving herself to be bigger than all her former peers (MileyThis album is absolutely a masterpiece and nobody can say otherwise. Every song, every music video, every live performance is perfection. This is a vast improvement from her 2016 Dangerous Woman album, which was the worst album of her career. Ariana Grande cemented herself as the best artist since Mariah Carey with this album, proving herself to be bigger than all her former peers (Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Taylor Swift, Adele, and Rihanna), as well as those who were considered above her.     to me, her best work to date. "thank u, next" and "positions" are also god tier, but "sweetener" was something next level. her best album, her best era. it just stays unmatched.

    Game changing album in her career, with Sweetener she became the most powerful woman in the industry. Album contains elements of different genres and that's what makes it's production so interesting and unique. Sweetener is also her most experimental and non-commercial album, because of that many people found it strange and unfortunately they don't like it.

    I'm writing this after the Positions album release and Sweetener continues her best work to date, the complexity behind this album is amazing, maybe it is not a favourite for a lot of mainstream pop fans but it is her most unique, singular work ever.

    it's was really hard to judge this album because sweetener includes some of my favorites songs of her but also the worst ones. The single 's choice are so good because it's truly the best ones on the album and shows ariana 's vocals.     There are two sides for me, one that I love a lot such as god is a woman, breathin, no tears left to cry, better off, everytime and goodnight n go. But I don't like at all songs like blazed, the light is coming, successful, borderline and sweetener.

    It's Ariana's best album. The themes are well-developed, the lyrics are powerful, the sound is not always the same, it's a mix of pop and R&B. The whole album sounds like a story. Good job, one of my favourite albums of 2018.

    Let's address this. This album has had amazing singles, and an amazing intro. I was so disappointed at first, but it turned out to be my favorite Ariana Grande album. I would give it a personal 8.5, but as I can only give exact numbers, I'm giving it an 8. Why? Because there are still songs that I don't connect with: Borderline, The Light Is Coming (sometimes) or Pete Davidson are those songs.

    One of my favourite AG albums, and after going to the Sweetener World Tour, the songs sound even better live! My favourite songs are Everytime, God is a Woman and Breathin’. This era was incredible.

    It’s definitely not her best. I have mixed feelings about Sweetener because there is 5 songs that I can’t stand and they were all produced by Pharrell Williams... Dangerous Woman and thank u, next are still her best albums.

For an album after a tragic loss of her fans, I expected a song that was dedicated to them, instead we got a track dedicated exclusively to her fiancé . Though she has "experimental" tracks on this album, when you listen to them, they are either completely terrible songs, or they sound production wise different from what she has done, but lyrically it's in the same vein of everything else she has done. The songs that I like, I really like. Goodnight n go, god is a woman, her well soon, no tears left to cry, better off, breathin are good. Every time is ok. Pete Davidson is a cute interlude. REM is boring, TLIC is messy production wise. Successful, Borderline, blaze, and sweetener are not songs I go back to.… Expand

    É o album mais pessoal da Ariana e também o mais controverso pois tem musicas que para alguns pode significar blasfemia (na verdade God is woman é uma musica de empoderamento feminino com algumas alusões á obra divina talvez seja por isso que religiosos não gostaram), tem também uma musica dedicada ao seu ex-noivo (a canção é perfeita o que estraga é o seu titulo), na minha opinião esteÉ o album mais pessoal da Ariana e também o mais controverso pois tem musicas que para alguns pode significar blasfemia (na verdade God is woman é uma musica de empoderamento feminino com algumas alusões á obra divina talvez seja por isso que religiosos não gostaram), tem também uma musica dedicada ao seu ex-noivo (a canção é perfeita o que estraga é o seu titulo), na minha opinião este album é muito angelical tanto que na musica intro parece que estamos entrando no céu, esse album conseguiu ajudar mentalmente a Ariana pois ela passou por um trauma (atentado no seu show em Manchester) depois disso ela ficou muito abalada e acabou ficando mais ansiosa, melancólica, e sensível nas coisas, a produção do album foi uma auto-ajuda para ela conseguir superar e seguir em frente, por isso ela conseguiu se abrir e relatar todas as suas dores nessa album com a ajuda do produtor Pharrell. É um ótimo album para ficar calmo/a e com muitos conceitos incríveis por isso minha nota é 8.0… Expand

    It’s Ariana's favorite album and was praised by critics. However, I stopped stanning her after this album because I just couldn’t connect with this album...at all.
    First the positive bits: The album's intro "raindrops (an angel cried)" is cute. She shows off her incredible voice in this interlude. The first track "blazed" featuring    "Sweetener" was released two years ago this week.
    It’s Ariana's favorite album and was praised by critics. However, I stopped stanning her after this album because I just couldn’t connect with this album...at all.

    First the positive bits:
    The album's intro "raindrops (an angel cried)" is cute. She shows off her incredible voice in this interlude.
    The first track "blazed" featuring Pharrell Williams is universally hated but it’s actually one of the few songs on the album that I like. I like the breathing in the background and the funk influences.
    There’s two groups of people when it comes to "the light is coming"; one group loves the song and the other group hates it. I immediately liked the song. It’s very different and actually probably the only experiment on this "experimental" album that worked for me. It’s very hip-hop influenced and I like the sample. Nicki's part is a little short on this one.
    "God is a woman", the album's second single, is an anthem! The message about female sexual empowerment is very powerful and Ariana's vocals on this song are outstanding.
    The album's third single "breathin" was immediately my favorite song when I first heard the album. It has a dance pop sound and is definitely the most poppy track on the album. Lyrically it talks about overcoming anxiety which is an incredible message and relatable for someone like me who struggles a lot with anxiety.
    Everyone knows the album's lead single "no tears left to cry" and everyone loves it. Rightfully so because it’s one of those perfect Max Martin pop songs. That man is a pop genius! It talks about the tragic Manchester attack and about overcoming a tragic event. Very serious theme but that song just always puts me in a good mood. The harmonies in the background are stunning.

    Now the negative parts:
    First the album's title track. Really? What is that? Not only are the lyrics annoyingly repetitive, bland and just stupid in parts but also the production is so damn messy and weird.
    "successful" is a song about Ariana being....successful. The chorus of the song can be fun at times but that Wii music in the background is almost laughable. It sounds a bit unfinished.
    "R.E.M" is a Beyoncé reject. It’s obvious why Bey didn’t want to put this on her album because it’s just so damn boring. There’s no lows or highs in this song it’s just so monotone. It’s funny that she sings about sleeping because the song will literally put you to sleep.
    "borderline" features the legendary Queen of Hip-Hop Missy Elliott. I expected a lot from it but it’s easily the worst song on this album. And that says a lot. Just like "R.E.M" there’s no highs or lows and the song is extremely monotone and it’s just...there. Missy's verse is boring too unfortunately.
    The album's final track "get well soon" talks about Ariana's personal anxiety and trauma following the Manchester attack. Beautiful meaning, terrible song. It’s extremely messy and feels like 90 different song rolled into one.

    I don't mind "everytime", "better off", "goodnight n go" and the "pete davidson" interlude. Those four tracks were simply okay. Not terrible but nothing special either.

    So "Sweetener" was not for me. It’s a very messy album with a lot of bad songs and fillers. Ariana constantly adding "yuh" to every line she sings doesn’t help as it just gets annoying at some point. I have no idea how this album got the critical acclaim it received but that’s just me. Anyway, the 5 (or 6) tracks that are good would’ve made a nice EP.

    At the end of the day though, Ariana likes the album, it helped her work through some things and her fans like it. That’s all that matters.    … Expand

    Sin duda el mejor álbum de Ariana Grande, la producción es muy buena y la lírica se nota más madura respecto a sus anteriores trabajos. Los singles son de lo mejor del álbum, que si bien tiene tropiezos como the light is coming, se escuchan sonidos muy frescos. La armonización simplemente es excelsa, de las mejores vocales que he escuchado. 91/100

    such a great album, I honestly can't see why the songs produced by pharrell are getting a lot of hate, he added to this album this experimental and tropical vibe that makes it so unique and so special, definitely one of her most cohesive albums (Along with thank u next and dangerous woman)

    This album gave 'no tears left to cry' and 'God is a woman.' This is like chapter 1 for Ariana before dropping the entire thesis which is 'thank u, next'.

    This album is from 2018. I am typing this in 2020 and I got to say this album has good songs. I will still listen to the songs this year. The lyrics of the songs in this album are nice as well as the sound of the songs.

    This is her best album lyrically. I don't know how people rated it red. All singles are bops and meaningful at the same time. This album is a masterpiece. It deserves the success of any successful overrated album!

    I give this album a 7. This album, overall, is not bad, but it is not really fully impressive and makes me addicted to it. I love some tracks like "God is a woman" (which talks about female empowerment), "no tears left to cry" (which talks about Ariana's state of mind and feelings, especially after the Manchester bombing event), "breathin" (a dance pop track which talks about Ariana'sI give this album a 7. This album, overall, is not bad, but it is not really fully impressive and makes me addicted to it. I love some tracks like "God is a woman" (which talks about female empowerment), "no tears left to cry" (which talks about Ariana's state of mind and feelings, especially after the Manchester bombing event), "breathin" (a dance pop track which talks about Ariana's anxiety after all of the bad things happening to her), "get well soon" (a beautiful soul and R&B track which represents Ariana's emotions, love, and sadness. And I also love the message behind it). I also like "everytime" and "goodnight n go" because they are catchy and sweet songs. I don't like some tracks like "sweetener", "better off", "pete davidson", "the light is coming", "blazed" because either they have repetitive lyrics, weird arrangements, boring production, bland melodies...… Expand

    Um dos melhores álbuns que ja ouvi em toda minha vida. Com referências, com mensagens sobre feminismo, depressão, ansiedade, relacionamento instável etc.., Um álbum muito profundo sobre a vida pessoal de minha Rainha Ariana Grande. Sou Arianator, porém não por isso que dou 10, e sim pela qualidade e sonoridade que este disco possui. Uma obra prima, raridade de Álbum.

    a fantastic album by one of the best vocalist in the world right now. she should be proud of this album since it is one of the best albums i've ever heard. it certainly sounds so carefully thought and a masterpiece overall. best album of 2018. well done ariana!

    This album is messy, awkward, aggressively lazy (lyrically AND sonically), and has almost no sense of direction. The production, for the most part, is awful. I was honestly quite embarrassed for her when I heard the album for the first time. While some songs are definitely better than others, there were moments when I thought to myself, "why does this song even exist?"     Tiene muy buenas canciones como God Is A Woman, NASA y Raindrops. Sin embargo muchas suenan a relleno. Le doy créditos por intentar algo más experimental y cambiar un poco el sonido que llevaba, sin embargo este disco no es uno de mis favoritos. Si no fuera porque honestamente pienso que God Is a Woman es una obra de arte de principio a fin (producción, letra, visuales, coreografías enTiene muy buenas canciones como God Is A Woman, NASA y Raindrops. Sin embargo muchas suenan a relleno. Le doy créditos por intentar algo más experimental y cambiar un poco el sonido que llevaba, sin embargo este disco no es uno de mis favoritos.     Grande’s new sound, the Williams-produced Not-Bangers, only make up half of the album. These standout tracks are interspersed between standard pop tracks. ... That’s not to say that the Bangers on Sweetener are bad--it’s more that they belong in previous era of Grande and they spoil the flow between songs. Sweetener may not be the dawning of a new age for Ariana but it could be a step towards somewhere weird and wonderful.

    Ms. Grande backs up her statements with song-and-dance mastery. ... She’s her own choir, support group and posse. While a few guest vocalists (Mr. Williams, Nicki Minaj, Missy Elliott) provide a little grit for contrast, Ms. Grande sails above any fray, past or present. Her aplomb is her triumph.
