Jul 18, 2022There’s a cohesion and a vigour to Tick Tick Tick that may make it Mallinder’s finest and most enjoyable record in at least ten years (take a bow Hey Rube’s criminally slept on Can You Hear Me Mutha recorded with Fila Brazillia’s Steve Cobby in 2012).

MojoJul 14, 2022Making a little go a long way on a contagious return, up there with commercial peak Cabs circa The Crackdown and Micro-Phonies. [Aug 2022, p.94]

The WireJul 14, 2022For all its bounce, this is a claustrophobic, airless LP, and you have to wait until the last track to hear a human voice free from distortion. [Aug 2022, p.52]

Jul 14, 2022Mallinder's vocal style on this album is far removed from the unhinged paranoia of early CV, sounding much more reserved and shadowy but not vulnerable. This suits the music perfectly, as the rhythms energetically unfold without reaching any sort of climax but are too busy and engaging to recede into the background.

UncutJul 14, 2022The basic formula may be familiar, but Mallinder’s ear for fresh noises and slippery grooves remains as sharp as ever. [Aug 2022, p.29]
