Pollard races through each song with all the gusto of the late '90s. His enthusiasm, though charming as ever, falls just shy of justifying what often feels like a collection of chaotic, unfinished demos.

As usual, production is low to mid-fi and songwriting quality is top notch. Main member Robert Pollard spits out these minor masterpieces as fast as you or I could expel a mouthful of watermelon seeds. All but two of the 24 songs are under two minutes: If you don’t love the one that’s playing you’ll likely dig the next one—and you won’t have long to wait. Members have also played in Boston Spaceships, Keene Brothers, Phantom Tollbooth, Ricked Wicky, Nada Surf, Cobra Verde, Death Of Samantha, Shudder To Think, The Dambuilders, The Library Is On Fire, tons more. “Warp and Woof” extends the well-deserved legacy of Guided By Voices as one of the most creative and productive bands in the business of entertaining indie rock ears.
