Mar 11, 2015Wasted on the Dream is tight and snarling, an amalgamation of punk brevity, metal riffs, and garage attitude, tailor-made for blaring from parked cars idling while their passengers figure out how to maximize the night’s fast, cheap, and out of control quotients.

Mar 12, 2015While it's unlikely they'll ever again have the kind of recording budget a major label can afford, they certainly made the best use of what they had. That they made an excellent record in the process is a feather in their cap and a giant middle finger to the label that paid for it.
-
Mar 23, 2015"Karaoke, TN" and "Coat Check Girl" are good neo-power pop, but what gives Wasted on the Dream its kick are those earlier moments, when the band wants to be a different band than it is.
-
MagnetMar 12, 2015There's still plenty to get excited about here.... But the stinkers here--like would-be Bowling For Soup b-side "Karaoke, TN" and "Coat Check Girl"--nearly soil the whole thing. [No. 118, p.57]
-
Mar 17, 2015Unfortunately, Wasted on the Dream gets too mired in the darkness in between its party anthems.
-
Mar 11, 2015It's all crunchy and cloying and probably better if you're high, but that just makes Wasted on the Dream something like a store-brand version of your favorite cereal; it's close, but not there, usually a matter of texture and feel.
-
Apr 16, 2015The problem is that everything they’re putting out sounds like some project a highschooler might come up with in order to impress his too-cool guitar teacher.
