The bare arrangements are a compliment to her voice, which is nimble enough to meander through all of the record’s introspective verses while also retaining enough power to deliver the occasional knock out chorus.

‘Blush’ shows the work of a songwriter who, even as something of a rookie, can command your attention and emotions with the most effortless of lines and make you consider your own life and relationships with the gentle encouragement of a close friend. Hold ‘Blush’ close – it’s a special one.

Blush is, in its gentle and pleasant way, a strong debut collection of country and folk songs.

Blush is a record of impressive variety, both in sentiment and sound. Some of the riskier arrows fall far off the mark, but more often than not, Hawke hits her targets with verve and style.

I knew Hawke from "Stranger Things" and "Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood" and was pleasantly surprised to hear she's releasing music. The album is indie pop and folk rock. I love indie and folk so the album is right up my alley.
The album isn't completely striking to me but I'm also inclined to re-listen to it and pick-up some of the songs. There's definitely something there with her music. I absolutely get 60's folk hippie vibes. She reminds me of Joni Mitchell or Sibylle Baier. I love it.
I also adore that each song is different, but retains a similar style, switching between jazz pop, indie pop, and folk pop. But, it doesn't feel too repetitive or boring. It really has something interesting going on.
"So Long" gave me Tarantino, twangy kind of vibes which was nice to hear.
This was a very promising album and I'm excited to hear what she does next.

ALBUM ARTWORK: The artwork is nice. I love the awkward headshot of Hawke with the artistic effects around it. It's desaturated with paint strokes around her head and a grainy, film kind of texture. It reminds me of the cover for "Fetch the Bolt Cutters", looking like an art class project, but also conveying the casual and personal feel of her music. Lastly, I love the blue-orange color scheme, being a filmmaker. Something about the blue really compliments the monochrome portrait of her and mixes with the harsh texture in just the right way.

Es un gran álbum, lleno de mucho folk-rock y música orgánica que la sociedad necesita en esta época en la que estamos viviendo
