An invigorating and refreshing sonic brew. [#7]
  2. You won't be sure whether you blacked out from a seizure, gave birth to twins or simply had one of the best musical experiences of your life.
  3. Business Casual is fierce and competent, and evinces the rippling of powerful musical muscles. But its affectations are so grating that it's tough to make it through it all in a single listen.
  4. There's nothing really spectacular about any track, although in a strange way the entire album does have the ability to grow on you.

For Beep Beep, New Wave means not zippy synth-pop but the brute force of '70s punk turned into screwed-up yet finely calibrated outbursts. [Sep 2004, p.134]
  6. Despite Beep Beep's shortcomings, they do get over on energy alone.

Overall, the Beeps still seem like a work in progress. [Nov 2004, p.140]

On first listen sound[s] like someone taking the piss out of The Rapture. [11 Sep 2004, p.57]

[Bemberger's] annoyingly wordy yelp carries only a few memorable lines and fewer melodies. [14 Oct 2004, p.98]
  10. Q Magazine

Rendered with all the warmth of a fax machine. [Sep 2004, p.117]
  11. Despite the wailing vocals and insipid lyrics, the rhythm section nearly saves this album with its tensely coiled, ready-to-explode grooves.
  12. Urb
    40
Done in by fussy, irritating delivery and lyrics that range from clunky moralizing to potshots at easy targets. [Nov 2004, p.98]
  13. The sheer number of things happening in each song and the volume at which they are performed causes almost instantaneous sensory overload on all but a few tracks.

Some songs ("Misuse Their Bodies", "Electronic Wolves") are immediate dance-punk classics while others ("Executive Foliage", "Chewy Poison") are flat out annoying. At the high points of this album it is clear that Beep Beep could be that band to fill in the dance-punk niche that indie rock so desperately needs. All they really need to do is tone down the high-pitched screaming. Business Casual shows a lot of potential and I look forward to their next album. Full Review »

Hellishly hard to listen to at times, but stick at it, it *is* worth it.
