    Searing. ... Just when you think Viagra Boys have exhausted their ideas, outside of the surprisingly confessional ADD, Murphy and his cohorts crank up the energy one last time on Return of the Monke.

The theme of the album is very a much a mix of 2020s modern hysteria over topics like COVID, conspiracy theories, and spree shooters along side developments of the bad guy persona Seb has built on previous records. It also stands out as a modern take on DEVO's theory of devolution of the human race, with several tracks referring to ape-like behavior and how people would be better off going back to nature. I don't have enough good words about this album. It is truly a refreshing and original album, and It cements the Viagra Boys in the upper echelon of modern post-punk bands.… Expand

The rest of the tracks don't quite scratch the same itch for me but there's no arguing Viagra Boys are evolving in such an entertaining way.
