Father of Asahd isn’t perfect, and the celebratory baller vibe can get a little tiresome at times. However, this time round, whenever Khaled shouts “Another one!”, his catchphrase, it actually feels merited. DJ Khaled’s true talent lies in bringing people together.

Although instant, maximum commercial impact is no doubt the primary objective, the album does come across as more considered than the average Khaled LP.

DJ Khaled knows how to produce a hit with any number of artists, but his 2019 effort could have used some more growth like Asahd.

While old friends and freeloaders litter “Father of Asadh” like empty pony bottles, new collaborators and fresh faces actually do lift the proceedings and save the day.

The formula’s limitations are evident on Father of Asahd: There are plenty of voices but no clear message or intention.

Not only are the song structures disappointingly formulaic but the samples picked for the project rank as some of the laziest in recent Hip Hop Years.

As quality control at Khaled HQ dips slightly yet noticeably, it might be time for him to receive more undeserved blame than undeserved credit. ... With no commercially undeniable moments like the Rihanna showcase “Wild Thoughts” (from Khaled’s Grateful), Father of Asahd grooves along like an adequate 54-minute stretch of hip-hop/R&B radio (with no commercials, at least).

This DJ Khaled album is NOT GOOD. Full-length DJ Khaled albums continue to be in their own tier of artistic bankruptcy.

"be kind to one another because almost everyone is going through a battle you know nothing about" - lebo. music is business and d.j khaled is a business man. at first i went through an entire album (tracklist) and was like to myself : why isn't there jay-z , future , chrisbrown , nicki and all other artist he used to include in his classic albums before and my answer to myself was : does he have feature them in every album of his to validate good relationship & in order to be critically acclaimed?. i am giving this album 6.5 rating bc 1. he should not be criticised for working with new and trendy artists and his music shouldn't be limited to a certain targed market 2. he delivered when it comes to beats and production. the overall quality of a song, featured artists should be criticized separately bc they aren't a reflection of the work & efforts he put in individually.

concerns : opening song is good & is eligible to be compared to lemonade intro (in my head) however i wish he featured a more dignified soloist - john legend ( but refere to the above). positive : maintained a reasonable max track numbers of what i am expecting from any studio album (16).
