They have always written insanely short, catchy pop songs in the modern idiom, and, for those looking for the one line post mortem, Innings doesn't just not disappoint, it delights.

Perfect turn-your-brain-off summertime entertainment, Innings fights the good fight against underground music becoming overly respectable or professional.

It might not be your cup of tea, but there's little denying its charm.

Nodzzz has a new album out, called Innings. Those who read this who can't easily experience the former are encouraged to do so with the latter.

Innings succeeds as a minor expansion and development of the band's essential sound, and it's a progression that makes clear sense.

Innings proves underground pop is still very much alive, and Nodzzz have made an album that strikes a perfect balance between simplicity and intelligently applied craft; they've made it a whole lot of fun, too.

Since Nodzzz songs rely mostly on sporadic ruminations, they communicate much more effectively when a satisfying guitar riff surprises as opposed to when they build an entire song on little life tidbits that don't amount to much.

Nodzzz are best in small doses, their tooth-achingly sweet indie pop causing some trouble after more than a few tracks in a row. Too many songs sound too similar, and that use of "effortless" at the beginning proves to be a deal-breaker.

It's charming in small doses, but the album often comes off sounding something like a high school equivalent of They Might Be Giants. [May 2011, p.88]
