He cant always maintain the jolly-like facade, so More and Arson was born. But naming it as Jack in the Box, with references to Greek myths, mentioning Pandora's box. There really is hope in the end. The intro was chef's kiss to whole album, it was this little fine but imp detail. "Arson" was literally litt, the agression and in "More", "Future" and "Equal sign" beautiful songs with beautiful message, "Safety zone" literally being my safety zone, Stop an amazing song and my favourite "What if" I'd do anything to listen to it live. The album is a perfect mix of aggressive rap and rock music and beautiful vocals at the same time.… Expand

    Jack In The Box, a significantly powerful album. All songs in this album holds their own meaning and essence. A must listen it is! We encountered with both rapper Jhope and vocalist Jhope through it. Love all the songs but my all time listens are arson, safety zone and equal sign. Thank you jhope for such an amazing piece of art.

    As a music lover who listens to all sorts of music, i must say that JITB is a very unique album. When you first listen to it, it feels like you are being kicked really hard because of the vocals and metal instruments beautifully put together that it makes you think the composer/artist is very angry.     No usa autotune abusivo, tiene una voz muy estable y no usa los típicos ritmos pop que usan los artistas kpop. Lo mejor es que j-hope arriesgó todo con este álbum y le salió de maravilla... Él no se apegó a lo típico que la industria kpop hace, y eso la hace más brillante.

    That was the best album I've ever heard of a Korean artist. like you don't even feel he's Korean because his rap and the way he pronounces words is very cool. It's a very cool album, it talks about the Rapper's, (J-Hope from BTS), struggle and personal thoughts as he went from a mere street dancer to a global sensation, how he was consumed with the need to achieve more and in turn what it did to his inner self. He also went through many existential crisis in order to differentiate between his on screen and off screen personas, he said that he felt like he had been wearing a mask all alone and in the last few songs made peace with himself. Plus, the artistry and the versatility of this album earned a chunk of my respect to j-hope as a soloist and a musician.

    He is such a wild cardー an aceー to the music industry, because j-hope before a rapper/producer and songwriter is a dancer who was born through dance and the music that plays on the street. Such a breather this album is.

    Additional to that is that the lyrics here are all controversial. Yet still very humble and kind at same time. It is also so raw and so open, it scared me a little because JITB shows me a side of j-hope that is not an idol, but a human in his most vulnerable and innocent form.

From the album cover, the title tracks, music videos, the song itself, the lyricism and the performances, every single part of this album is so creative. The theme "jack in the box" fits so well with the artists but was also unexpected which gave the element of surprise. The songs expressed and confessed feelings and thoughts hidden deep like a jack in the box. Even though the concept is scary and more intimidating, I find it a little bit more laid back in comparison to J-hope's first mixtape "Hope World". Hope World was bright and colorful and fun in first sight, but reading the lyrics and understanding the song would make you realize that it's actually more scary. Jack in the box is scary, dark but colorful, and showcased his craziness but really it's a confession and expression of the real person inside him. The track "equal sign" touched people's hearts and is fans favorite for a reason.… Expand

    Love the album and the message j-hope wanted to portray through it. So different and refreshing from what the "kpop" label is. Just an amazing experience listening from top to bottom.

    This album is amazing. Every track of this album is masterpiece. Equal sign and safety zone is my all time favourite because they relieve stress. I love this album.

    Jack in the Box is an album of top caliber, something I truly expected from Jhope. Listening to it from top to bottom is like listening to an audio book... his story and what he wants to say are such a joy to listen to. Hobi, I am truly proud to be your fan. I will forever be a BTS Army.

    this is such a great album and the most admirable fact is that is doesn't cater to a focused genre, jack in the box goes beyond it. truly enjoyed the entire album and just astonished by j-hope's work!
