Segall and Company get straight As in terms of delivering big, psych-damaged, garage-infused hard rock, and if you want to hear Segall kick out the jams, Live in San Francisco is exactly what you need.

The set is more interesting the more it delves into the songwriter's prodigious output, generally beefing up what it finds. [Jun 2015, p.81]

Here Segall and his band perform the songs pretty much as written, only louder. It isn't Segall's best record, but it's worthwhile if only in that it documents the whole crew playing together at the peak of their ability.

Focusing on tracks from their 2012 album Slaughterhouse, Segall's band keep things relatively tight in structure and loose in delivery, giving listeners a keepsake version of a gritty, sweaty, earsplitting rock show.

It’s loud but never chaotic, intense but never dangerous.
