Funk’s career-defining skill for making worlds collide, in the heart, the head, and the studio, continues majestically.

My Love Is A Bulldozer is a deeply ostentatious album, though knowingly so.

Bulldozer is essentially just an impersonation of a Snares record circa 2005, masterfully percussed but otherwise unsubstantial.

Whatever Funk’s motivation in pumping out yet another breakcore grenade in his long line of breakcore grenades, My Love is a Bulldozer is at the very least an engaging listen--make of that what you will.

There’s evidence that he’s pursued some kind of consistency to the album’s mood, but it’s sonically so scattered that you can’t help but feel he’s fighting a losing battle; ultimately, he’ll end up back where he started--with devotees satisfied, but little in the way of fresh converts.

Occasionally it threatens to work. [Jul 2014, p.63]

His tongue may be in his cheek at least some of the time, but parts of this album feel like the worst excesses of rock opera as applied to dance music.

Aaron not only proves that he can continue making incredible music after these 15+ years, he also shows that he can conquer any genre, thoughAaron not only proves that he can continue making incredible music after these 15+ years, he also shows that he can conquer any genre, though this album wasn't as abstract and experimental as some of his previous releases, it's still worth checking out without a doubt. I found myself addicted to each track once at a time, tracks like Amazon keep to his original chaotic style and there are some more chilled out tracks on here for easy listening, it really does have everything. I just hope he goes back to the days where he would release up to 5 albums a year, I'm hoping for a couple more by the end of 2015 *fingers crossed*.
