    The album probably has more features than any other Budden project, but it’s not overbearing. Also, Joe does not move away aimlessly from what he is good at and what he enjoys.

    With Joe’s distinct style steering every track, No Love Lost is a much more cohesive and focused work, despite similar fluctuations [to Slaughterhouse's Welcome To: Our House].

    The casual listener might think it drifts too much, but fans who wrap it up in the Slaughterhouse universe will find it's a somewhat jumbled effort with plenty of literate, thoughtful writing to explore.

    Even without the cushy padding of Welcome to: Our House's clutch of Alex da Kid, AraabMuzik, and Hit-Boy beats, No Love Lost predictably sounds an awful lot like everything else on the radio.

    He sounds completely adrift here, struggling to articulate vulnerability or trying to figure out relationships. More problematic, he seems to have cherry-picked beats off a thrift store rack.

Lyrically this album is great as showcased on songs like "All in My Head" with Royce da 5'9" and "Skeletons" with Joell Ortiz Crooked I. The production for this album was absolutely horrible but thankfully the lyricism shown by the Mood God was impeccable to save the album. All those who doubted Mr. Budden before this release should be proved wrong. Of course there is no 'big single' here to stand with his 2003 hit "Pump It Up" their are some radio friendly songs like "NBA" which features Wiz Khalifa and French Montana, "She Don't Put It Down" with Tank and rap superstar Lil Wayne. Overall, I think this is a good blueprint for the rap veteran's career.… Expand

    This album falls flat, especially after his latest mixtape, A Loose Quarter, was so good. While, yes, the production is awful and the songs in general are just bad, the worst part about the album is that the best song is "All In My Head", which was released on the aforementioned mixtape. Budden would've been better off releasing his mixtape as the album, especially considering how bad the album is in comparison to the mixtape. "Skeletons" and "You and I" are the only redeeming original songs the album has.… Expand
