A quick dozen tunes happily unconcerned with mass appeal. [Jan/Feb 2006, p.95]
  2. Los Angeles Times
    75
Another strong batch of songs that are as entertaining as they are thought-provoking. [6 Dec 2005]

His agile attack still lacks Jigga's precision, 50's swagger, or Kanye's cocky confessionalism. [Jan 2006, p.92]
  4. It's highlighted by an invigorated Kweli who's back to his old sound-bombing ways.
  5. Fans looking for a return to the focus and cohesion of Black Star and Reflection Eternal will have to keep waiting.
  6. Standing out might be the biggest obstacle facing the bulk of Right About Now's 12 tracks. It's significantly shorter than Kweli's best album, Train of Thought, but has far fewer shifts in sound or mood to keep it interesting.
  7. Billboard
    60
Leans more toward conscious than commercial. [26 Nov 2005]
  8. Right About Now is a pleasure when it's taken for what it is: not a big statement or a fully polished work of art, but a collection of what could have been and might be.
  9. Kweli's slight charisma deficiency is tempered by collabos with MF Doom and Jean Grae, although the Black Star reunion with Mos Def ("Supreme, Supreme") adds little to their legacy.
  10. Blender

Kweli expends most of his considerable lyrical talent touting his considerable lyrical talent. [Jan/Feb 2006, p.94]
  11. Entertainment Weekly
    58
Seems like this MC's best days may be right about then. [2 Dec 2005, p.83]
  12. Stocked with leftovers and ornery jabs at the status quo.

Good album. I didn't like beautiful struggle so much and except of "The Blast" reflection eternal wasn't so special either. This Good album. I didn't like beautiful struggle so much and except of "The Blast" reflection eternal wasn't so special either. This album has some good power songs. Check out "Blackstar" with DJ Hi-Tek for some more excellent work. Full Review »

Anyone want a great Kweli album should get "Reflection Eternal" w/ DJ Hi-Tek or his stint in Blackstar. The rest are quite dissapointing. Good, but not great. The album starts out strong. The middle is pretty good. But the last 3 songs are absolute stinkers.
