With some of their catchiest songs yet and Gareth's muse in top form, this album stands among their strongest work.

Los Campesinos!' brief hiatus has resulted in one of their strongest releases to date; Sick Scenes is an eloquent testament to the triumphs and trials of adulthood.

    It’s scene-stealing stuff.

Sick Scenes, the British group’s sixth album, plays like a love letter to aging indie idealism; to the fans who have reveled in this band’s careening pop-punk singalongs, scathing neuroses, and charmingly specific soccer references.

They just make records, and they’ve made a very good one in Sick Scenes.

Sick Scenes is certainly a messy affair, stylistically, and overrun with densely packed lyrics, though it's not entirely without charm. [Mar 2017, p.32]

There is no one else in this scene that compares with Los Campesinos!
How is it possible they're not only "still this good," but instead actively upping their game on so many levels.
My order of ranking the songs (as of right now):
    A Litany/Heart Swells
    Amarante
    A Slow Slow Death
    Got Stendhal's
    Here's to the Fourth Time
    Sad Suppers
    Renato
    Hung Empty
    The Fall of Home
    5 Flux
    Belly Tolls

And these are all very good songs. "Fourth Time" and above cross into great songs' territory...and I'm always surprised when any band I run across has ONE great song on an album...here we have at least five
