    you just don't feel any connection with the album is like the sound and lyrics are not too special and it's pretty forgettable, nothing to compare to Perry's prior albums that at least had two or three potential smash hits.

    The main problem with the album is how forgettable it is. There are no catchy choruses and the production is very mild. This album feels like almost an afterthought. With Witness, while it might have been a mixed bag of songs, at least you remembered the ones that stood out and it has decent production. With Smile, every song feels very tired and outdated.

    You have to be honest, for an artist of the stature of Katy Perry this is not a good album. It's not soo bad and it's okay that i wanted to make a personal album, however that doesn't mean that this album is forgetful anf boring.

Not a single interesting song, no risks taken, no experimentation, no thing noteworthy. It would have gotten at least a 3 or 4 if she put any effort into trying something even a little different from the empty-headed, bubblegum popIt's just simply...... Not good.     One of the worst Katy's album. She hasn't grown up at all. Typical rhythms and lines. Sounds like demo-version of TD. Katy's main problem is that she's afraid of going away from her typical Bubble gum outfit. She tryes to experiment but want to have TD's success. She wants to sit on both chairs but it's impossible and that's her main rwason of failure.

Smile shows Katy Perry has definetely changed since Witness. She's more mature and, in my opinion, this is not a chiclé based those stupid critical reviews.     Smile has a few good songs on the album, but the lyrics get a little too repetitive. Tucked remains the best from the album. Not the best album released by Katy.

    There are some really great songs on this albums and some songs I plan on never listening to again. It's far from her prime pop hits but album as a whole is just a message of empowerment which is great but it's been the same message through the entire album.

    Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

    Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
