She's My Kind of Rain
She's my kind of rain Like love in a drunken sky She's confetti falling Down all night She sits quietly there Black water in a jar Says, baby why... See the rest of the song lyrics

  1. Perfectly imperfect and totally fearless, this may well be McGraw's crowning achievement in a career already studded with success.

    [McGraw's] best album. [#12, p.147]

America's favorite suburban outlaw shucks his hillbilly pretense and corn-pone cartoonishness for a more temperate earnestness. It suits him. [29 Nov 2002, p.107]
  4. The album sags in spots, and McGraw and his coproducers misstep in adding faux R&B vocal washes here and there. But this is a good, solid effort to make music and not just the radio charts.
  5. But mostly, McGraw sounds empty.

Lackluster for the most part. Nothin' fancy or anything that sticks out in my mind. Contrived country. And I should know -- I'm Lackluster for the most part. Nothin' fancy or anything that sticks out in my mind. Contrived country. And I should know -- I'm Dancehall Doctor John Marcus' older brother, the one who got John into his instrument initially.
