There is no attempt to sugar-coat his legacy. Unfiltered, melodic, cinematic and raw, this album has moments that feel a little cheesy, but that’s in keeping with how unconcerned he was with “coolness”.

Only the less impressive closing song "Fingers" sounds primed for mass appeal with traditional hooks. More compelling are the moments that showcase Lil Peep's unique relationship with self-expression and self-destruction. His delivery, lyrical choices, and sincere examination of difficult feelings seemed curious when he was alive, but take on a profound significance in the pallid wake of his death.
  3. The sombre project is blistered and broken in all the right ways. Peep’s legacy of making music that has no purpose other than making itself felt is the glue that holds this sprawling 13-track album together.

What’s particularly notable about COWYSP2 is that it excels in a pop context--songs like Hate Me and Runaway feel at once fresh and familiar, swarming with hooks and infectious choruses that pierce the fuggy instrumentation, while managing to cover new sonic ground in an accessible way.

While Come Over When You’re Sober Pt. 2 puts the cap on Peep’s short-lived career, it leaves behind clear evidence of his once-limitless potential.

Come Over Pt. 2 lacks a single, a glittering pop-punk exclamation point like “Awful Things” or “The Brightside” to break up the album’s long drift. But that’s OK, really. The album is a valentine offered to Peep and to his fans, and it is built for immersion, not for persuasion.

On the whole Come Over When You’re Sober, Pt. 2 is a touching monument made with love. The death of Lil Peep marks an end of an era and COWYS, Pt. 2 is the type of record that moment deserved. Somehow, Peep’s estate, collaborators, and friends found a way to transmute love through the loss.

After not listening for so long, a song came out on my playlist, and I listened to the album from beginning to end, And it has reminded me of somewhat sad memories, but at the end of everything and of that stage of my life , it has reminded me of how many good times I didn't appreciate enough. I have more happy memories than I thought and i didn't appreciate em enough. Thanks to the producers, peeps mom and ofc, Pero. ❤️ Expand

I think this is actually one of the greatest posthumous sort of rap albums i've listened to still to this day. The opening with broken smileI think this is actually one of the greatest posthumous sort of rap albums i've listened to still to this day. The opening with broken smile really caught me, i remember it was november and foggy outside and the atmosphere of the song really fits the fall/early winter, such as the whole record actually. Songs like "Runaway", "16 Lines" and "White Girl" have a really cool vibe, even though they sound quite monotone but the vibe really fixes that. "Life is Beautiful" and "Leanin'" are highlights of this album lyrically, while a song like "Cry Alone" has some grunge rock vibe with a sort of clappy beat, going into an interesting and really catchy direction. Bonus Tracks are Falling Down with X, which really turned out great in my opinion, but you also get the original version with IloveMakonnen on the Bonus Edition, which is also fine, but not as good as i would say.

I feel like this record is very unappreciated/underrated, like the work smokeasac has put into this album. I think it sounds way better than the predecessor COWYS Part 1, because of the ambient and yeah, vibe of this Record. Definitely works for me!
