  1. The album’s slower tempo won’t be for everyone: if you’re all thrills, no substance, then maybe this album is not for you. But you have to respect ScHoolboy Q’s dedication to showing us a different outlook on life, and exploring many emotions. Introspective--yes, but these are songs for the summer.

From those raw, candid lyrics, to ScHoolboy's increasing pop acumen, CrasH Talk reveals many sides of an increasingly (and compellingly) unpredictable MC.

At 40 minutes, this is easily Q's leanest LP. It would be meaner with the removal of the inane Travis Scott collaboration "CHopstix," the uncharacteristic single.

There are without doubt a few tracks on this album that could make it to your favorite ScHoolboy playlist but said “few” don’t outweigh the remaining dozen that fall flat on their blank face.

CrasH Talk might not have the mean-mugging raps of Blank Face LP or the weed-infused smoker anthems of Habits & Contradictions, but it’s comforting, like diving into the fifth or sixth season of your favorite network sitcom.

DJ Dahi, Sounwave and Cardo handle the bulk of beats here, with additional help from ScHoolboy staples Nez & Rio, plus the venerable Boi-1da and Jake One. Except the results are less DAMN. and more Redemption, the Jay Rock album from last year that everyone has already forgotten.

CrasH Talk is an unfortunate example of what can happen when someone gets the creative validation they’ve desired, only to find themselves at an impasse.

LikeScHoolboy Q's CrasH Talk is a good album, although it's not his best work as his other albums. I like a couple of songs on the album. Like "Drunk ft 6lack" was a dope song, "5200" was amazing, and "Dangerous ft Kid Cudi" was dope. But there are like two songs on the album that I thought was corny. Like "Chopstix" with Travis Scott, I thought that was alright, the beat is nice, and ScHoolboy Q killed it on the song; however, and even though I'm a Travis Scott fan, his chorus on the song was a bit weak. And the other song "Water" with Lil Baby was one of the worst songs off the album, and Lil Baby did not have to be on the song. The production on the album is dope though, and ScHoolboy Q did his thing in the album. In the end, it's a good album, but to be honest, I would consider being his worst album to date. 8/10 Expand

It has some bangers like Q usually does, but it also has some other stuff on it that kinda diverges away such as Drunk or Dangerous. Q on some tracks though, sound like he doesn't even want to be in the studio. Best tracks are Tales; Attention; Numb Numb Juice; 5200; and CrasH. Expand
