Summary:The Atlanta rapper is said to have changed his name to Jeffrey for only a week for this self-titled mixtape which features guest appearances from such artists as Gucci Mane, Wyclef Jean, Quavo, Travis Scott, and Young Scooter.
Jeffery isn’t the best rap album of the year, but it comes on strong enough to convince you--even for a few fleeting minutes of “Wyclef Jean”--that it just might be.
JEFFERY doesn’t contain the quotables of Barter 6 nor the progressive production of his one-off singles with Metro Boomin, but as a collection of songs, it’s his most realized set to date.
Young Thug has made a record about the agency public figures have over their own identities. In another, he’s made the year’s most bizarre, brilliant genre exercise. [Oct 016, p.65]

It looks like the Young Thug thread on KTT was correct in his potential, except for Barrk0 the woat ktt user. Anyways back on topic Young Thug haters lost, Rap Genius lost, Barrk0 lost.
The only real low points on this tape are the bridge to "Kanye West" which was a bit out of place and make the song longer than it had to be (I really do believe that is a hit without the hook). The meme title for Harambe, and the Travis Scott version of Floyd, which really does drag on, but I still have the original version without Travis (no hate he just didn't fit) so I don't discount points for that. Otherwise the entire tape is a great and movement in the right direction for Thug musically/sonically and creatively.…Expand

JefferyIn this project, we realize the potential of the man himself, Young thug (Jeffery), his potential under wheezy and TM88's production. Jeffery delivers the most marvelous flow to this date, but this won't beat Barter 6 nor Slime Season 2. Although, this is an inspirational project for Thug to drop, it did not sound like any ordinary or typical Thug mixtape you would expect.…Expand

He by this point in his career, should be able to create better music.
1. Wyclef Jean, its the best of the album and has a extremely catchy chorus 9/10
2. Floyd Mayweather ft. Travis Scott, Gucci Mane & Gunna, insert generic rap song 2/10
3. Swizz Beatz, i can't understand half the lines he says on this song 1/10
4. Future Swag, this song has a great beat but suffers from half audible lyrics 3/10
5. RiRi, one of the better songs but is very messy and not an easy listen at all 4/10
6. Guwop ft. Quavo, Offset & Young Scooter, its annoying and that's really it 1/10
7. Harambe, now this is everything bad about the album in one song 0/10
8. Webbie ft. Duke, the problem with this is its bland and boring 2/10
9. Kanye West ft. Wyclef Jean, no thank you this isn't what i want for a Young Thug song 3/10
10. Pick Up The Phone ft. Quavo, ok now a song that is good [because of Travis] 9/10
Standouts are Wyclef Jean, RiRi & Pick Up The Phone
Overall: 3.4 (rounded down to 3) as this album had potential, it was overall a disappointment and could have been much better than what it is right now. It being a "Mixtape" doesn't change anything.…Expand
