Ohms is abrasive, destructive, and alluringly beautiful – but most of all, there’s a profound purpose and longing behind every punch that they throw. After two and a half decades, Deftones are still finding new ways to energize, enrage, and inspire themselves – and with Ohms, they’re finding new ways to peak.

Deftones have only ever produced good albums, but they’ve also spent the decade since Diamond Eyes exploring textures and soundscapes, sometimes at the expense of songcraft. Ohms breaks that trend, with more focused songs, and a renewed love of hard-rocking guitar riffs that may rekindle the band’s relationship with fans that jumped ship after White Pony.

This record is just as unique and innovative as each album before it. It's truly and honestly a breath of fresh air, it's just once again under the helm of the producer who fleshed out their unmistakable and haunting sound in the first place.

An intriguing addition to the band’s canon.

Arguably, Ohms is at first blush nothing new for Deftones. What it is is an engrossing refinement of what they’ve become over years of risk-taking and experimentation.

While some fans will always have their favourite Deftones album (White Pony being the most popular), it’s becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish what their best album is, especially when they’re in form as hot as this.

By streamlining their sound, Deftones have made an album that proves that ferocity is not a diminishing resource.

The singles released for this album were perfectly placed as the finale and opening of the album to show what was forthcoming as a whole. AThe singles released for this album were perfectly placed as the finale and opening of the album to show what was forthcoming as a whole. A few listens in and I can say it ranks in the highest tier of the deftones catalog. Not a single song is misplaced or deserves just a glance. From my first listen Ohms was great but after a few more, in my opinion, it may just be a masterpiece showcasing each band members talents at the highest level. Also I get this feeling that it has glimpses of each past record while being entirely different. Deftones has once again made my favorite record of the year and does not disappoint with the long awaited Ohms. Expand

I seriously cannot get enough of this album. It literally oozes and screams everything wonderful about deftones. As someone who startedI seriously cannot get enough of this album. It literally oozes and screams everything wonderful about deftones. As someone who started listening to deftones in middle school soon after adrenaline came out. I going to hesitantly, but confidently say that I think that this is their greatest album to date. Expand

What is this derivative, inane garbage? And why do most people seem to like it? I am baffled. This kind of music was boring 20 years ago. NowWhat is this derivative, inane garbage?
