Change, escape and identity are not easy things to navigate, and ‘Preacher’s Daughter’ is the dark, unsettling, sprawling beauty that comes out of it.

Ethel Cain's debut album is an astonishing accomplishment; one that is as painful as it is constantly bathing in the most beautifully dreamy arrangements. Every moment serves to enhance the conveying of the record's story, and refuses to shy away from the unconventional, intense, or drawn out.

Preacher’s Daughter produces a crater-deep impact that commands respect and attention. Where one may knock some of the power ballads for sameness, one might instead find consistency, an album grounded in the artist’s inspirations and narrative mission that is, above all, tantalizing. It is hard not to crave more.

There's a substance and cohesion across Preacher's Daughter that's lacking on most debuts – and yet there's clearly so much more to come from this incredible artist and the rich world she's created.

With more questions raised than answered, Cain’s unusually ambitious and fully-realised debut somehow leaves listeners craving more in spite of its wonderful, exhausting, 75 minute runtime.

As captivating as Cain’s mood-setting can be, Preacher’s Daughter is such a slow burn you periodically wonder if the flame is even still lit.

By the end it's impossible to ignore the fact that this is a long record with flagging momentum. But it's also impossible to ignore this intriguing debut's promise. Preacher's Daughter has lyrical richness and atmospheric potency to spare.

This album I highly recommend to all of you to listen it to those who have struggle in their faith, identity, family struggles and love. ThisThis album I highly recommend to all of you to listen it to those who have struggle in their faith, identity, family struggles and love. This album was one of the incredible and albums I've ever heard. American Teenager was the perfect lead single to the album although I understand mother Cain to give Gibson Girl as lead. I really also love two songs Family Tree it hits different especially to those have scuffle to their family. Gibson Girl is sassy, sexy pop song and kinda vibe it. Throughfare is one of the most offensive songs I've ever heard in this album. Stranger & Hard Times also good song. Anyway 10/10 perfect album. Highly recommend. Amen Expand

This album is simply stale, boring, uninspiring, uninteresting and unappealing.
