    Four hypnotic, Madge-tinged dance tracks. [1 Apr 2011, p.77]

For its obvious melodic strengths, though, EP is a tease, slowly removing one layer at a time until its heart is revealed.

As a bite-sized musical excursion, the stylish electro house of Ditto's solo debut is likely to leave many disco doyens wanting more.

Lyrically Ditto is in top form, striking a sage tone to dish out relationship advice (I Wrote The Book), console a friend (Do You Need Someone) and reprimand an ex-lover (Open Heart Surgery).

She is near pitch-perfect with every turn, and seems to relish the opportunity to flex her vocal cords in this electronic environment.

It's all well and good, but this experiment works best when Ditto showcases her snarly pipes, as on the break-up-themed cruncher "Open Heart Surgery." Otherwise, she's just awash in layers of electronica that dilute her Southern bite.
