One of the brightest and catchy offerings for Sub Pop all year. [Nov 2006, p.188]
  2. Ultimately, the band has arrived with a poppier-sounding album while their signature sour earnestness remains intact.
  3. This is a record full of loose ends and fractious energy, not at all compromised by its move up the food chain.
  4. With their music and attitude backing up this mature, sophisticated and affecting version of themselves, the members of Oxford Collapse stake their claim among not only Sub Pop's ranks, but as one of indie rock's best new bands.
  5. It's a torn and somewhat confused record, but a more decisive one wouldn't have suited them or their subject matter.
  6. Remember The Night Parties finds the Brooklyn-based trio expanding greatly on the post-dance-punk sound of their first two albums.
  7. It takes time for the nuanced talent of Remember the Night Parties to peek through some occasionally redundant elements.
  8. Unlike the groups' prior albums, Remember the Night Parties carries less heft due to its shimmering pop mindset.
  9. There’s no question that Oxford Collapse, like an awkward teenager, hasn’t figured out exactly what they are, and the added pressures of a larger label release have caught them slightly off guard.
  10. This disc won't change your life but makes for a pleasant 40-minute listen.

When the adrenalin stops pumping, the reality is that labelmates The Constantines do this stuff much more effectively. [Dec 2006, p.118]
  12. Formerly a more stolidly post-punk outfit, their bread and butter on Remember the Night Parties are the kind of R.E.M.-meets-Superchunk anti-anthems of “For the Khakis and Sweatshirts” and “Return /of Burno.”
  13. Musically the record comes off as simply a rote (if spirited) rendition of the best records from Rainer Maria or 764-Hero, which certainly isn’t saying much.
  14. Under The Radar

There is a palpable sense of indifference throughout the first half of the record. [#15]
